The University of Primorska is participating in the international project T-RISE – Transforming Regional Innovation Ecosystems for Sustainable and Digitally Enabled Entrepreneurship, which was selected for funding under the EIT Higher Education Initiative and is implemented within the European university alliance Transform4Europe (T4EU).

The aim of the project is to strengthen the European innovation ecosystem by connecting regional innovation stakeholders and promoting university entrepreneurship, innovation and cooperation between the academic, business and public sectors. Special emphasis is placed on the areas of sustainability, green transition and digital transformation.

A Joint Innovation Office will be established as part of the project, which will enable students, researchers and employees to develop entrepreneurial competences, support knowledge transfer into practice and connect with innovation and business partners. The project promotes the development of so-called. i. “knowledge entrepreneurs” or individuals who transform research results into innovations and solutions for social and economic challenges. The University of Primorska leads the project’s activities in the areas of communication, dissemination and sustainability of results and contributes to the development of a common innovation environment within the Transform4Europe alliance. In this way, it strengthens the connection between research, education and entrepreneurship and promotes the creation of innovative solutions with social impact.

The project partnership consists of 8 partner organizations and 6 associated partners from different European countries. The project coordinator is the University of Alicante, and the project runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028.

The project is co-financed by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) within the framework of the EIT Higher Education Initiative, which is supported by the European Union.
