The Change Hubs for Ecosystemic Social Solutions (CHESS) project, supported by Horizon Europe, aims to explore and implement new approaches to tackle the challenges we face as a society. It also focuses on strengthening collaboration between stakeholders, which it aims to achieve through “learning by doing”. EMUNI’s project has a particular focus on the sustainable blue economy and social innovation, with one of the key themes being the consumption of drinking water on the Slovenian coast.
The workshop, which took place at the EMUNI headquarters at Kidričevo nabrežju 2 in Piran, brought together a number of important stakeholders, including representatives from Rižanski Vodovod, The Science and Research Centre Koper (ZRS Koper), the Inter-Municipal Administration of Istria, the Municipality of Piran, the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, University of Ljubljana, in addition to the Centre for Development and Knowledge Transfer, University of Primorska, Faculty of Management.
The workshop agenda covered a number of important points, including presentations, implementation of the tools and discussion on challenges and solutions and social innovation. Speakers enriched the event with their experience and knowledge, contributing to a rich and fruitful exchange of ideas.
The final thoughts and conclusion of the workshop pointed to the importance of further cooperation and action to address the challenges of drinking water consumption on the Slovenian coast in a sustainable way. This event is thus just one step in a broader series of efforts to improve the future of our coast and environment.
