As employees, we spend a large part of our lives at work. Many jobs today are sedentary or involve repetitive movements. Problems associated with sedentary work or repetitive, monotonous movements result in reduced mobility, obesity, back, leg or arm problems and pain, which have a negative impact on employees’ health.
Knowing the exact characteristics, preferences and workplace of employees is essential to effectively design health promotion and workplace and work process adaptation programmes to increase company performance and worker health. Researchers at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Health Sciences, have developed a professional, technology- and science-based service that provides for an initial analysis of employees, which is carried out using high-tech systems. Based on the results obtained and the preferences of the employees, they design individual and collective measures for the theoretical and practical empowerment of employees at work, in the light of taking care of their own health.
